Heather Austin, Ph.D.
Clinical Child Psychology
Private Practice, licensed in Alabama. Dr. Austin received a B.A. in Psychology from Augusta State University in 1989 and in 1996 received an M.S. in Psychology from the University of South Alabama. She then received a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Child Psychology from Auburn University in 2003. She completed an Internship in Clinical Child Psychology and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Austin is member of American Psychological Association and Division 54 – Society of Pediatric Psychology, Alabama Psychological Association (serving on Executive Council), Association of Licensed Psychologist in Alabama and Birmingham Regional Association of Licensed Psychologist (past-President).
Dr. Austin is available for psychological evaluation, therapy services and school consulting. She is able to treat a variety of concerns for children and families, but her primary interests are in evaluation and treatment of ADHD, parent-child interaction therapy for oppositional behaviors in children, improving coping and adjustment for children with chronic medical conditions and their families, and issues related to weight management.
