So honored to have met Drew Long and to have heard her story of love and
perseverance. Drew Long’s middle child Caroline was born with Rhett
Syndrome. Years ago when Caroline outgrew a typical shopping cart she
realized that there were no carts for older children and adults with
disabilities. Today Caroline’s cart is in every state and 4 countries and
has impacted thousands of people.
On May 7, 2016, our very own Heather Austin, Ph.D., served on a panel for the Birmingham based PowHERful™ Summit led by the renowned journalist and chairman of the Starfish Media Group, Soledad O’Brien. The Summit was a full day of empowerment with an emphasis on educational, professional, and personal development for high school juniors and seniors and college-aged participants. Experts presented curriculum in areas such as digital and financial literacy, STEM, workforce development, college preparedness, health and wellness and more. We congratulate Dr. Austin on her selection for participation on the panel!

A packed house had the opportunity to hear many esteemed speakers including Dr. Robert Stern from Boston University, who shared his groundbreaking research into CTE diagnosis and its eventual treatment.
Dr. Joe Ackerson was a keynote speaker at the 8th Annual Southeast Regional ADHD Conference, which took place on Friday, January 22nd. The program included content specific to educators, counselors, parents, adults with ADHD, mental health professionals and medical professionals. Dr. Joe Ackerson opened the conference with a Keynote Address about ADHD. Overall, the whole event was a success, and we are looking forward to next year. To learn more about this event, click here.
